The 2nd Indonesia International conference on Science Technology Park (IICSTP) was held to enhance many opportunity in development research and development result based on knowledge based economy.

The current development of Science Technology Park (STP) is a strategic step to create a model of locally potential empowerment framework. STP is naturally the government investment on the facilities and infrastructure used for creating knowledge based creative industries, in order to lift up competitive advantage on economic growth in society.

This Conference is organized to bring all related experts, practitioners, and policy makers to share their expertise and experience on how to STP can play roles in boosting R&D results into innovation to enhance knowledge-based economy.



Background

Liberation development technological Innovations play significant roles in society especially to enhance many possibilities to lift up potential the result of research and development area. They have the capacity to create and propel social goods in ways that are often not easily recognized. In the last decades a number of organizations and institutions have committed to broadening the access of technology to places that otherwise may face the 21st century with 19st and early 20st century tech¬nologies. Collaboration between the international research, technology innovation and business strategy interacting together and thriving in intellectual scope encourages the advancement of economy and social prosperity.

Nowadays, research institution, universities and industries in particular, are central pro-viders of global knowledge that produce both basic and ap¬plied research. Implementation research are scarce in developing countries; nonetheless, the few that exist provide developing countries with economic and social progress.

The current development of Science Technology Park (STP) is a strategic step to create a model of locally potential empowerment framework. STP is naturally the government investment on the facilities and infrastructure used for creating knowledge based creative industries. It could also be translated as the public place with a physical approach, shared facilities, services, and team work for the greater prosperity for the people. In line with this function, the STP also facilitates transformation and the transition ideas from universities or research institutions to the private companies in order to create economic value. In other words, STP is a representation of the development of science and technology based on the needs of the society. Therefore, it is important to consider that the implementation of the Science Technology Park can be aligned with the development agenda both in national and international level. The main frame of this implementation is to establish cooperation which accommodate interests of both parties and contribute to the strengthening of knowledge and technology transfer.

Knowledge-based economy is expected to be able to increase productivity, added value, and improvement competitive excellence. Technopreneurship and innovation are two key factors in shifting to the knowledge-based economy. Both of these can provide economy and social benefits. The economic benefit was improving efficiency and productivity, increase income, create new work field, and driving the economic sectors. The social benefits are driving social behavior change in society to be a society with competitive excellence, which is productive and wise in the utilization of resources in the local economy. STP provides an innovation ecosystem that, among others, promote technopreneurship and innovation so as to a region or even a nation can participate in developing and benefitting from an improved knowledge-based economy. This Conference is organized to bring all related experts, practitioners, and policy makers to share their expertise and experience on how to STP can play roles in boosting R&D results into innovation to enhance knowledge-based economy


Objectives

The main objective of The 2nd Indonesia International Conference on Science Technology Park is to :

1. Provide a forum for researchers of both domestic and foreign to be able to exchange ideas STP development and its roles to enhance knowledge-based economy.
2. Contribute significantly to capacity knowledge based economy in scope national, regional and international areas.
3. Strengthen networking amongst academia, government, and businesses in exchange of ideas and thoughts for advancement and development of R & D, innovation, entrepreneurship, and STP from around the world

Goal

The involvement of stakeholders in the development of R & D result such as government, industry, academics, researchers, students, and NGO in national and international level which are interested in the development and utilization of science and technology.

Output

1. A scientific publication in both international proceeding IICSTP and journals.
2. A network database consists of industry partners, technology producers, and researchers of both national and international stakeholders who are putting attention on the development of R & D result.
