PT Pembangkit Jawa - Bali (PJB) worked with the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) to encourage the creation of innovations in the field of power generation. "Actually our cooperation with LIPI has lasted a long time. It's just that we are only now officially formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding or “Nota Kesepahaman”, "said President Director of PT PJB Iwan Agung Firstantara in Surabaya, Wednesday (28/02).

He explained that so far LIPI has been giving it innovation supervisor in electricity generation and machining efficiency within the PT PJB. Looking ahead, Iwan hopes that  LIPI can solve multiple problems faced by PT PJB. He cited Boiler Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) owned by PT PJB have many problems with the pace of abrasion. In addition pipes and refractory owned by PT PJB as easily breakable.
"So we hope LIPI can provide a recommendation regarding what could strengthen the material and equipment in PT PJB in order to live longer," he said. Iwan also hopes LIPI can enhance human resources at PT PJB.

Acting Head of LIPI, Prof. Dr. Bambang Subiyanto welcomed the cooperation with PT PJB actual longstanding and now strengthened by the signing of a memorandum of understanding. "For so long we do not know whether the LIPI research has been carried beneficial for PT PJB or not. With the signing of a memorandum of understanding like this, we can be more active doing useful research into an innovation," he said.
Research result from LIPI will be able to push the components needed PT PJB to be made in Indonesia without having to bring in from abroad, said Bambang,
